Departure Time

7:00 AM
After meeting your guide at your Algarve hotel, enjoy a day trip to Spain’s Andalucian gem, Seville. Aboard your air-conditioned coach relish tranquil views as you travel 2 hours east. After arriving, venture by foot to discover the city’s top attractions.

First, stroll to beautiful Maria Luisa Park, a public park humming with local picnickers and shaded by a canopy of palm, elm, and Mediterranean pine trees. Walk along the park’s expansive Moorish-style gardens as you approach the stunning Plaza de España. Learn how this Renaissance Revival style building was built in 1928 for the Ibero-American Exposition World’s Fair.

Enter the regal Plaza de España noticing the half-circle moat, grandeur walking bridges, and gorgeous twin towers. Head towards the center and see the Vicente Traver fountain. Watch as water soars into the air creating a cooling mist.

Move onward to explore the neighborhood of Santa Cruz. Learn about this former Jewish quarter as you wind your way through narrow cobblestone alleys with Tapas Bars at every turn. After wandering past charming whitewashed houses arrive at the UNESCO World Heritage site Seville Cathedral. Stop for a perfect photo opportunity at the world’s largest Gothic cathedral.

Next, head to Real Alcazar Palace (Alcazar of Seville), the oldest royal palace still in use today. Admire its architecture developed by real Moorish kings and learn how the upper levels are still occupied by the royal family. After visiting the palace your tour ends with your guide, but continue for the next 3 hours on your own.

If you’re hungry, head to a tapas bar for a wide variety of tasty bites or grab a smooth gelato to cool down (own expense). Perhaps, step into a souvenir shop or just wander corridors taking in the ambiance. After three hours, rendezvous with your guide at a prearranged location and time and return to your Algarve hotel where your day trip ends.

Seville 2020

We really enjoyed this trip. Seville is a beautiful city and the tour guide was fantastic. The only downfall was the commute. It is a bit far from Albufeira so you spend a lot of time travelling.

Tour guide ...no guided tour

This was basically a bus ride to Seville. The tour guide walked us to the cathedral and then said we were on our own. The bus was leaving at 3.10. Would not recommend.

Seville was great but it took too long to pick up passengers along the way. Would have liked to spend more time in Seville than on the bus

We knew it is going to be a long day . The only thing we did not like was having a tour by bus in Seville. we lost one hour in traffic and visited mainly Expo area not the center . We would have use better that hour walking in the city by ourselves

A taste of Seville

We took this day trip while in the algarve for vacation. Everything was as promised. Hotel pick up and drop off. Comfortable bus ride and then time in Seville . Of course you do not have a great deal of time to explore but you can plan it out and hit some of the city's highlights. I would buy tickets to the cathedral and palace ahead of time to save yourself some time in line and to make tour trip even more efficient. The tour was very professional. The multilingual aspect (everything was repeated in 4 different languages) took away from depth of information at time- but did not detract from the overall value.

Great but not enough time

It was amazing to see Seville and the price was great as well. It would have costed more to do it on our own even though we already had a car rented. That said, it did feel like we needed more time to see more of Seville. It wasn't the fault of the tour of course, just how it is. Also, the promised free onboard wifi did not work and there was no effort to fix it. I know that it shouldn't be a make or break; however, we needed to contact others in Portugal to confirm evening activities and could not until we either found wifi in Seville, or returned back to our stay in Portugal.

Seville lots do to-don’t go on boat tour

Beautiful place to visit with lots to do. Our first time on Seville. We got picked up on time and off we went to pickup other people. We got to Seville early. We were going to do hop on hop off with other passengers but tour guide discouraged us and said don’t do it boat ride is much better. It was the worst tip a tour guide ever gave us. The boat ride was one hour just up and down the river. It went very slow. We could of seen all and more on the bus. The $16 euros each should be refunded to us. We missed one hour of city tour. Tour guide must get commission from boat company.

Be Warned- Twice As Much Time on Bus Then in Seville
buzowithme5925

If you are okay with almost 10 hours on bus and only 5 hours in Seville from 1130am - 1615pm Spanish time keeping in mind siesta from 1330pm to 1530pm when stores and restaurants are closed, then this may be a worthwhile trip. However, my husband and I did not find it enough time to really tour anything, just quick exterior photo shots. We decided to separate from tour guide as we really could not hear her since group was so large and due to city noise. We took the 1 hour boat cruise at end of trip but it really wasn't worth it as the majority of the sites cannot be seen from river. Didn't even have time to tour the bullfighting ring and while flamenco shows are advertise all of the shows are in the evening. The two hour drop off of passengers once back in the Algarve made for a long and not very pleasant day. Practical info: Pick-up by van at 0610am (10 minutes early) from Quinta do Paraiso resort in Carvoeiro (west Algarve) After 2 bus transfers finally reached Seville at 1030am Portugal time. Some information provided by tour guide in four languages during ride. Stop at truck stop cafe about 40 minutes outside Seville. Once in Seville, tour guide takes you to cathedral where you have choice to remain with tour guide or venture out on own. Lines to monuments are too long to actually tour. All tours are separate price and required to have Spanish guide if not with tour guide. It was also very warm (40°C). Boat ride was last event before leaving. We did have excellent tapas and beer at Puerto Plata on Adolfo Rodriguez Jurado. Overall, this trip was simply a teaser or orientation trip for an actual trip to the city.

Good tour

Really good option to visit Seville for a day if you are on Algarve region. Once you get to Seville, the guide will let you choose if you want a short guided tour to the Cathedral, or you want to go by yourself, which gives aproximately 4h of visit. I chose to go by myself, and was able to visit Plaza de la España, Real Alcazar, see the cathedral from the outside, and stop for some traditional spanish tapas, and it was already a tight schedule visit. For the Real Alcazar, definately book tickets in advance, else you will face huge queues. The tour itself was good, and very organized.
