Extraordinary experience
, Jul 2019
It has been a great experience. We had the chance to watch the dolphins in their "natural space". Nice crew and a special guide as Rodrigo.

Thank you very much for your review! ;-) We do respect nature and our interaction with it. We need nature, nature does not need us! That is why "our" dolphins have been staying in the bay/coast for the past 22 yrs and growing strong! Warmest Regards, João Dickmann
Amazing tour

My sister and I did the dolphin watching tour on Saturday 15th June, and we had the most amazing day. Huge thank you to Joao who was our guide for the afternoon. He was a fantastic guide, so friendly and knowledgeable. We learnt so much from him about the history and culture of portugal, and of course the beautiful dolphins. Thank you so much. I highly recommend this tour to everyone

Hello again Laura! Thank you very much for taking your time to write a review about your dolphin experience with us. We are very glad that you licked it and thank you for your kind words about me (Joao...;-) ). Warmest Regards and all the best, João Dickmann
A amazing day at sea
, May 2019
João picked us up at the pick-up point in Lisbon, and we had a nice drive to Setúbal, first stopping at Fortress São Filipe for a guided tour and then to the harbour to catch the Catamaran. We we so lucky to have a beautiful day to go out onto the water and were lucky to see 2-3 dolphins. The boat was allowed to be around them for 30mins after that we cruised the coast line for the rest of the duration before heading back to the harbour and being driven back to Lisbon. João was kind to dropped us off at a convenient place for us to grab a cab to LXFactory. As a guide he was really charismatic and insightful, giving us plenty of suggestions of things to do in Lisbon and also had great knowledge of the dolphins. We would love to do it again and would recommend this experience to everyone!

Thank you very much for taking your time and writing a review about your "dolphin day" with us! It is always very important for us to know how we are doing, and it makes us very happy to get such a kind review form our travellers. Sorry that in this day we did not see more of our dolphin family (as they are 27-30 members), but better 3 than none... ;-) Well, that happens when they are not trained :-) Hope to see you next time round and with more dolphins... Warmest Regards, João Dickmann

This tour was the highlight of our trip. Rod was incredible. He gave us great insight into the city as well as the dolphins. We saw many dolphins up close and they were so active. The brandy/wine tasting after was even better than expected. I would recommend this trip to anyone who loves drinking and dolphins and who doesn't?

We had an awesome day with our guide! He had arrived precisly to take us to Setúbal with a little bus. He was really nice with us, we talked a lot. The boat was great, it was old and new at once. We saw a lots of dolphins, loved them! When the dolphins swam away, we could taste some portuguese cheese and wine on the board. After the ship tour, we went to a vinery. We taste some delicious wines, and then we visited a tile museum. It was amazing, the locals were very friendly. We had a fantastic day together, really enjoyed it. Our guide offered a lot of programmes to us, and we just have to choose of them. So thank you for that day, I hope we meet someday again! Thanks a lot Dora and Gabor from Hungary

We were picked up at 9am from our hotel in the city and drove for about an hour to Setúbal, stopping briefly at a fish and vegetable market on the way. Together with approx. 10 portuguese tourists we sailed out in search for the wild dolphins. To our delight we saw the whole family of 27 numerous times. This was truly the most amazing and wonderful part of this tour! After about 30 mins we continued sailing along the coast and back to the port. We spent a total of 3 hours on the boat without any water provided, so remember to bring some. Next we headed back to Lisbon and randomly stopped at a local liquor producing facility owned by a family in the region. We were given a brief tour of the facility and got to taste some fabulous regional cheese and various liquors. Overall the tour was good but relatively unorganized. If we hadn't seen the dolphins I would have rated the tour lower, as we did not visit the Arrábida Convent, the hidden Lapa de Santa Margarida or the historical sites that the tour promised. However, the dolphins are definitely worth seeing!

We booked this trip, never expecting it to be this GREAT! We were picked up at Solar Do Castelo, by a very friendly, knowledgeable guide by the name of Joäo D. John is what we called him and from there it was non stop! We drove directly to PortDe Setubal, where we boarded an Old Salt ship, that had been restored, along with maybe 10 others, not crowded. We were on the water for 3 1/2 hours, beautiful and saw LOTS of whales! This area was part of the National Park, very clean and very restricted waterway. On to lunch not included but was one of the best meals we had while in Portugal, fish were so fresh! Taking U There was the name of the company that Viator had used for this trip and John again, was so knowledgeable and the trip flexible if there was something we wanted to do, he took us. Visited a Winery for wine and Cheese, owned by family for 450 years, was great wine, wanted them all, but no pressure at all to buy. Returned to our hotel exhausted, from all we had seen and done thanks to John.....would recommend this trip to all ages, and ask for John from Taking U There to do your tour, you will love it and a day well spent! Thanks John
