Your Segway tour begins by meeting your expert local guide at a convenient location in central Lisbon. First, get acquainted with your new ride. Segways are simple to learn and are operable on virtually any pedestrian terrain, making it an ideal way to explore a lot of ground without getting exhausted. Additionally, you’ll be able to reach areas that many walking and bus tours cannot. Listen up at the brief safety orientation, take it for a test spin, and be on your way.
Follow your friendly guide to some of Lisbon’s most magnificent monuments. Wheel your way to Alfama, one of Lisbon’s oldest and most charming neighborhoods. Here, learn about the area’s history while rolling down its narrows cobblestone alleys and meeting local shopkeepers.
Glide on over to the stunning Sé de Lisboa Cathedral, one of the most visited landmarks in Lisbon. Listen closely as your guide gives you a crash course in Portuguese architecture, pointing out the mix of different influences, like Gothic and Baroque styles. You won’t want to miss what’s next—the medieval Castelo de São Jorge. Put your Segway into high gear to zoom up the hill upon which this stunning work of architecture is perched. From here, snap a few photos of the spectacular view that stretches all the way to the Tagus River.
Then, get to know Lisbon’s local characters when you meet local shop owners in town. Finally, try a sampling of local Portuguese cuisine, such as pastries, ice cream, and ginjinha (a local liqueur). Ask your guide any remaining questions you may have, as you make your way back to the meeting point, where your Segway tour of Lisbon ends.

Itinerary
Lisbon’s oldest neighbourhood and the most charming one, it’s considered the historic soul of Lisbon and its steep, cobblestoned lanes stand just as they were in medieval times. This area is best known for its fado houses and the great festivities of Lisbon which honors “Santo António” (St. Anthony) during the month of June, luring thousands of people into the streets. This neighbourhood resisted to the terrible earthquake of 1755 and this is one of the main reasons that contributed to the preservation of its authenticity. This charming area retains some of the Moorish atmosphere with its alleys, staircases and clothes drying on the windows.

On the highest of the seven hills, Graça is located next to the iconic São Jorge Castle and this area is famous for its two beautiful viewpoints: Senhora do Monte belvedere and Graça belvedere, also known as Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen viewpoint. During the 20th century this neighbourhood became a residential area for factory workers mainly. At that time this neighbourhood was characterized by its courtyards, traditional taverns and grocery stores, hosted popular festivities and the first public school was founded here (Voz do Operário) as well as the arrival of the iconic 28 tram.
